PLANNED ACTIVITIES
Green roofing. Combining an earth substrate with insulation and vegetation improves the comfort perception while increasing the insulation performance and albedo levels. It has been implemented in the swimming pool above the basement, the technical floor, and the roof, reducing substantially the internal overheating of exposed areas.
Slab soffit insulation. Even if the building has been renovated recently there are some areas of the external envelope that have a low thermal performance. Some slab soffits are exposed to outdoor conditions, implying extra heating and cooling energy consumption to try to keep the different precincts inside the desire comfort conditions. Therefore, these slab locations have been insulated with 10cm of XPS boards, lowering the thermal bridge affection.
LED lighting and presence detectors. The luminaires are still the same following the documentation received by the owners. It is impressive how a well-structured LED lighting system can reduce dramatically the energy consumption. This technology combined with presence detectors on balcony and movement areas such as lobbies, create the perfect set up to save energy.
PVs integrated on roof. To complete the renovation renewable energy production the roof is used to install 300 PVs of 400w generating 640860.82 kwh/y.
RESULTS
ESTIMATED PRIMARY ENERGY SAVINGS
Non-Ren Primary Energy: 27% energy savings
Heating: 2.5% energy savings
Cooling: increase of 9.5%
Ventilation: natural forced by the AC system
Domestic hot water: 49% energy savings
Lighting: 32% energy savings
PV Production: 138.1kwhPE/m2y
