Multi-stakeholder consultation workshop on the practical feasibility of developing a so-called “Building Passport”

Friday 29th of June at RICS Headquarters in London from 1.30-5pm

Organized by: Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GABC)

Aldren building passport will be discussed at the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction next consultation workshop

Scope and aims of the H2020 project Aldren! will be presented at the multi-stakeholder consultation workshop on Building Measurement, Data and Information organized by the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GABC). The event will be held in London and will be focused on the practical feasibility of developing a so-called “Building Passport”. GABC – Work Area 5 members have decided to explore the feasibility of developing and operationalising a Building Passport as part of its 2018 work programme. To ensure that the tool is fit-for-purpose, they wish to gather feedback from core value chain stakeholders, among which Valencia Institute of Buildings (Spain) has been invited to discuss the topic and give an overview of Aldren, specifically on the building passport that Aldren is willing to deliver to promote a step by step renovation.

About Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GABC): The Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GABC) is an initiative launched at COP21, as part of the Lima Paris Action Agenda. It aims to mobilise all stakeholders, including member states and non-state actors from the Buildings and Construction sector to scale up climate actions in the sector. The GABC focuses on the achievement of the low-carbon and energy transition through fostering the development of appropriate policies for sustainable, energy efficient buildings, which allows a concrete value-chain transformation of the sector.

The GABC comprises 5 work areas: public policy, awareness and education, market transformation, finance and building measurement, data and information. The work area on building measurement, data and information is co-chaired by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the government of Ukraine, the Climate-KIC and RICS. Work area members include one GABC signatory country, one UN agency (UN Environment Finance Initiative) and representatives from relevant stakeholder groupings.
